CTA Centre Ltd was the first fully accredited C.I.T.B permanent training and testing site in the South West. It is equipped to handle all the classifications of plant for which C.I.T.B offer CPCS cards. The Centre comprises a site which replicates in its entirety all construction site conditions.

40 acres of dedicated training area plus an additional 4 acres of woodland (for chainsaw training) means that it is possible to carry out more than one type of training at any one time. Only modern plant is used at the centre, that not available from the company's own fleet, is obtained only from major, renowned & reliable sources.

The centre is the brain child of Keith Curtis who has over 30 years experience in the plant hire industry & who was previously employed as a machine operator. Keith went to business in his own right as a one man operator of a wheeled digger, gradually expanding the company to 15 - 20 machines (over 30 present day) which operate over the entire country.

It was his experience and foresight which made him realise that it is not always possible to qualify a person as a machine operator in the often limited and hazardous confines of a town construction site. This led him to set aside the land at West Park purely as a training arena for operators. Additionally the centre also carries its own fleet of fork lift trucks (counterbalance, reach etc.) for training and certification to J.C.I.T.B standards.
